For twenty years,  I have been helping high-caliber, marriage-oriented singles find and keep real love in the NYC tri- state area and beyond. 

MY MISSION

My company, Rachel Russo Relationships, had been in existence as my side hustle for over a decade until I took it full time. I previously had a cushy job as the Director of Matchmaking for several top NYC matchmaking agencies. Several years back,  after a weird twist of fate, I decided to leave my  head matchmaker position and contemplated quitting the only industry I’ve known, loved, and had tremendous success in. 

Even though I felt satisfaction knowing that my work resulted in many happy relationships, as well as sustainable marriages and happy babies ,  there was something about the traditional matchmaking business model that wasn’t really working for me--and a considerable number of my clients. 

MY PHILOSOPHY

I believe that most people can have the real, lasting love they crave. That the relationship of their dreams is out there waiting to be claimed. 

But I don’t believe anyone can find or keep real love without doing the work. 

The task at hand usually involves getting a solid grip on a person at their core, assessing true relationship readiness, highlighting strengths while minimizing weaknesses, overcoming love blocks, and developing a deeper understanding of the relationship that would truly lead to happiness. And then, coming up with a solid plan for attracting the right type of partner and manifesting it all! Did I mention the accountability piece?

Unfortunately, the problem with many of my past clients who did not have the success we hoped for was that they didn’t believe they needed to do anything other than hire me to give them access to eligible singles. On the one hand, I understood their reasoning. These were typically mega-successful, attractive men and women--venture capitalists, millionaire CEOs,  successful entrepreneurs, and people who are rock stars in their industries.

They thought that once they were in front of compatible partners, they’d be riding off into the sunset in no time. But as I worked with them, I learned that some of their expectations were unreasonable, and some of their behaviors were undesirable. They were getting in their own way and didn’t see it--or they were seeing it and not knowing how to change it.

Of course, as a trained Marriage & Family Therapist who took on therapy and dating and relationship coaching clients in her free time, I was always trying to get them-not to mention some of my employers- to see the light. These clients needed COACHING! As I was coaching them throughout the matchmaking process and giving them honest feedback after every date, I saw that it was making a difference. But some needed so much more. After all, limiting beliefs about men, women, relationships  and one's self -as well as the self-sabotaging behaviors that follow- have deep roots. Just like feelings for your ex. Good or bad--you can't turn them off like a faucet. 

Needless to say, after more than my fair share of stress from difficult clients who’d make even Mother Teresa lose her patience,  I did some brainstorming and soul-searching. Fortunately, I realized that I didn’t want to stop trying to make real love happen in peoples’ lives. I just wanted to do it differently.  In a way that seemed better than anything that I had seen done before. In a way that is more authentic to me and would lead to success for more clients. 

Soon after, I made a promise to myself: No matter how much money is offered to me, I will only take on matchmaking and dating + relationship coaching clients that I genuinely like. I said I would not give up my personal peace or lose pride in the way I run my business to work with people who I don’t think are humans of the highest caliber! And I haven't went back on that promise—even in a global pandemic!  It has worked out fantastically!

With twenty years of experience working full-time as a matchmaker and dating & relationship coach, Rachel has a history of providing world-class advice and personalized introductions through her boutique matchmaking and dating coaching consultancy, Rachel Russo Relationships. 

With a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Iona College and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, Rachel has the expertise and empathy to help her clients navigate the challenges of modern day dating. A thought leader in the field, Rachel is a Master Executive Certified Matchmaker who teaches other entrepreneurs how to be successful matchmakers by creating courses, teaching certification programs, and speaking internationally at live events through The Global Love Institute. She has given back to the matchmaking community for the past decade in her work and has recently served as the Emcee of The Global Love Institute's 2024 Annual Matchmaker & Date Coach Conference.  Last year, she also had the honor of consulting for the industry giant, Match Group.

A committed self-help writer, she is the author of two books-How To Get Over Your Ex: A Step By Step Guide To Mend A Broken Heart Italian American Style and A Fab Job Guide To Become A Matchmaker- as well as countless blogs. She writes a weekly newsletter that her readers say has been life-changing.  Rachel’s advice comes from both professional and personal experience. No stranger to long-term relationships, dating, or heartbreak, she once went on ninety-two NYC dates in one year and blogged about them. She has since taken bold action to creating her own unique happily-ever after in love and life by prioritizing motherhood as a solo mom by choice. She gave birth to her baby girl, Serafina Simone- who was conceived via IVF with donor sperm on Dec 1, 2021-and is loving mom life at her home base in Princeton, New Jersey.
